Finlandia International Piano Masterclass week
Our event attracts a diverse group of young pianists from Finland and around the world. Past participants have joined the program from countries including the United States, China, Australia, Singapore, and beyond. This international environment fosters artistic exchange, cultural dialogue, and a shared passion for music.
About the program –
– intensive individual masterclasses led by distinguished faculty and jury member.
– workshop providing a deeper understanding of Finnish culture, music education and piano pedagogy.
– public concert recital highlighting the participants’ progress and achievements.
In addition to formal instruction, students have the opportunity to listen and learn from one another, encouraging meaningful musical exchange and collaboration in a supportive and inspiring setting. A Certificate of Completion will be awarded upon successful completion of the event.
Before this masterclass, the pieces I was playing were just pieces of music and the expressiveness I put into each piece were purely technical. However, during the masterclass, the professors helped me see the music as a story or opera. This allowed me to imagine the scenes in my head and give the piece a new meaning allowing me to have a better of what type of emotion I should express.

About The Masterclass
The Helsinki Intensive Piano Masterclass offers a transformative approach to reimagining both performance and musicality. The comprehensive & holistic approach incorporates an embodied and phenomenological framework, enriched by the philosophical and pedagogical insights of Orff, Kodály, Dalcroze, Celibidache, as well as the analytical levels and voice leading nuances from Schenkerian analysis. By synthesizing these varied influences, participants will deepen their connection to the music, the instrument, and their own artistry, fostering a more authentic and immersive musical experience.
